Forget UGG boots – I've discovered the brand's coats, and this autumn-ready shearling style is now 40% off
The range is packed full of snuggly outerwear that will boost any cold-weather wardrobe
If I asked you to close your eyes and think of the Australian brand UGG, I can guarantee that a pair of fluffy, sheepskin boots would spring to mind, but that might all change once you’ve discovered the epic range of coats and jackets from the label – it's filled with snuggly-looking cover-ups that are practically crying out for cold weather.
After weighing up the differences between UGG vs Emu boots, I had decided to invest in a pair of suede ankle-highs from the former, but then I got completely sidetracked when I spotted the Sema UGGfluff Coat in the online sale. This fuzzy, caramel-hued design is a classic teddy coat, but comes with generously sized patch pockets and contrast top stitching, which gives it a modern spin, and it’s made from a plush fleece fabric that will protect from chilly temperatures in the chicest way.
I hadn’t expected to find my new best winter coat from UGG, but I really have fallen hard for the longer-length, shearling design, which currently has a 40% discount – hurrah. You can find it along with some other trend-ticking coats from the current collection below.
This teddy style coat is made from recycled polyester fleece and it's fully lined to keep you toastie once the weather cools. I love this caramel hue, but there is also a black and a chocolate brown version too.
Funnel neck jackets are going to be everywhere over the coming weeks, and this soft neutral, textured style ticks off the trend nicely.
An oversized peter pan collar and contrast trims add a pretty spin to this fleecy design - use it to pep up a simple tshirt and barrel leg jean outfit.
An aviator jacket like this faux suede piece is a wise investment for any autumn capsule wardrobe as it will never go out of style.
If you prefer sportier styles, try this bubble hem jacket complete with zip-front and fluffy collar. Wear it with trousers and your best white trainers.
I love a statement piece or a bold print, but when it comes to winter coats, it makes lots of fashion sense to opt for a classic that won't date, as jackets can be expensive and you'll want to maximise the amount of wear you get from it over the years. All of the styles in the UGG range tick that box, as the snuggly textures and neutral tones mean they will work nicely with any outfit and will keep looking stylish winter after winter.
The Sema coat stands out for me, as it looks wonderfully warming while being very wearable, and I can see it working equally well over a knitted jumper and denim as it will over a blouse and tailored trousers for the office. It makes me feel cosy, just looking at it.
I have long been a fan of UGG suede boots, but the coat range has been a bit of a revelation for me - with snuggly pieces like these, autumn really can't come around fast enough.
