Why this gorgeous Phase Eight summer dress keeps selling out - and it’s currently in stock
High-street retailer Phase Eight is a go-to for whenever we need an occasion dress.
Weddings, graduations, regattas, races and even garden parties - the smart but feminine brand has long been dressing most of us for all of our summer events.
But this year with the nation having been in lockdown for three months due to the coronavirus outbreak and only now slowly coming out of it, our usual summer calendar is looking somewhat emptier than it usually is.
Luckily, the last few months have seen the sun come out more than it usually does during the spring and early summer, giving us all the chance to show off our favourite summer dresses - even if it only to the neighbours.
SHOP NOW: Penele Swing Dress, £89, Phase Eight
So during a season when the high-street fashion brand usually sees occasion wear flying off the shelves, they have instead had one of their cult summer frocks sell out time and time again.
The flattering Penele dress has been repeated snapped up by customers over the last few months for its pretty print, sunny colours and flattering fit.

And while we love the bright sweet red and ivory colour combination, the swing dress also comes in a delicate green colour.
And we’re not the only ones who are loving this summer must-have.
‘Love this dress,’ raved one Phase Eight customer. ‘It's floaty but still have structure with the waist line and the pleat at the front so I don't end up looking like I'm wearing a bag in my curvy frame.’

‘This summer's must have dress,’ added another, ‘perfect on a boiling hot day and on a grey rainy day too’.
Others agreed, writing, ‘I love this dress as it covers a multitude of overweight lockdown sins. It’s very comfortable and a gorgeous colour. It can be worn casually or dressed up’ and ‘Love this dress. Really good quality, great fit and very flattering, perfect for dressing up or down.’
Pair this with tan sandals and a slouch bag for a casual daytime outing, white canvas trainers for a lovely walk in the sun or some glitzy flip flops for a social-distanced garden get-together.
