Bake Off’s bread week was a disaster, but Nigella Lawson and Alison Hammond made up for it with their chic autumn outfits

Nigella’s blazer is still in stock, and it's now reduced

The Great British Bake Off’s bread week might not have produced the mouth-watering bakes we usually expect from the show, but last night’s episode was far from lacking wow-factor thanks to Nigella Lawson and Alison Hammond.

Alison's Never Fully Dressed star deer Aria mesh dress was so popular that it sold out only 30 minutes into the episode. Luckily for us, the dress is still available to shop in a range of different patterns, which means we can easily recreate the look.

Nigella, on the other hand, stuck to the block colours she often relies on. Her Hobbs Blake check jacket comes in the most beautiful pink hue, with ivory checks adding a hint of pattern and texture. She dressed the blazer down for a more casual feel with a classic white tee that kept the colour feeling light and airy against her black tailored trousers and created a look we’re definitely bookmarking for this season.

These two autumn outfit ideas couldn’t be more different from one another, but they both tick all the boxes when it comes to on-trend styling this season. Smart, elevated and playful in their use of colour, we’re not only tuning into Bake Off for the impressive recipes this year but also for all the outfit inspiration we need to get through the season in style.

While Alison’s dress grounded its bright accents in a warm, autumnal brown hue, Nigella kept the pink of her blazer feeling light and airy by styling it with a white T-shirt and trainers. Pink is set to stick around throughout autumn and winter after dominating trends in spring, so now is the perfect time to lean into pastels.
