Denim jackets are a staple layer for autumn, offering just the right amount of warmth. And Nigella Lawson’s bold leopard print iteration is the update to the timeless design that we did not know we needed.

For this week’s episode of Bake Off, she wore Sosandar’s leopard print jacket, which uses the timeless animal spots to inject the classic with a timely update. Eye-catching, but still sophisticated and very wearable thanks to the neutral tones of the print, it’s the statement piece you want on hand to boost autumn outfit ideas.

While her Sosandar jacket is nearly sold out online, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite styles that take inspiration from her look, so you can add this big cat design to smart casual outfits.

To ground the pattern and highlight the black leopard spots in its print, Nigella styled her denim jacket with a simple black top and a pair of black skinny jeans. This really let the jacket stand out and showed how easy it is to pep up an all-black ensemble with one statement-making style.

It’s a trick you can use for any occasion too, opting for a monochrome look of tailored trousers and a button-up, or leggings and one of your best wool jumpers, or jeans and a blouse – keep everything sleek in black, while a bold jacket does all the work.

Leopard print, despite its bold print is considered a neutral. Yes, it’s busy. Yes, it’s bold. But you can wear it with any colour, and its browns, beiges and black can complement even the brightest reds that are dominating autumn/winter fashion colour trends for 2026. So don’t think that the only option is to tone leopard print down with black; it really does work with colour too.
