Let's rewind back to September when the most dreamy New Look coat dropped. The black and white checked creation was part of British comedian and presenter, Emily Atack's collection, and it's fair to say it gained a lot of attention.
It's no secret that the best winter coats always sell out first. With cover-ups in all shapes, sizes and styles dropping in at the end of summer, we often think it's too soon to invest in layers, but quickly learn they gain the 'sold out' stamp pretty quickly.
Case in point? New Look's monochrome style that sold out in a matter of weeks and this is why there's never a wrong time to buy a great coat, in fact, our advice is to get it whenever you see it, no matter the season.
What gained our attention, though, is this long, checked coat that Emily has been seen wearing herself. Teamed with a polo knit, mini skirt and tights combo, this cool cover-up is so wearable you can throw it over any outfit and it'll instantly lift any look.

Naturally, the coat sold fast and the sizes became limited, but now the coat has been restocked in all sizes (UK 6-18/ US 4-16) but we can't guarantee they'll stick around for long.
Proving you can wear New Look's coat with any look Influencer Kaniz Miah (above) styles it with a pair of wide leg strides and sneakers. We also think it'll look just as amazing over a slip dress and heels for after-dark soirées.

However you choose to style the checked New Look coat, rest assured that this timeless, flattering double-breasted style will see you through many chilly seasons to come.
