Now that British summertime is officially in full swing, sandals are the no-brainer footwear of choice - when the weather cooperates, anyway.

That's why John Lewis' stock of some of the most comfortable dad-esque sandals on the market flew off the shelves when they launched on the British retailer's website at the start of the year.

The chunky but comfy Teva sandals are fuelling our obsession with 'ugly' summer shoes and it seems that the rest of the UK's fashion fans are on the bandwagon too, with the brand's Original Universal Sandals consistently selling out online.

They're designed to support your feet and offer serious comfort when it comes to outdoor walking, so if you're prone to blisters we recommend nabbing yourself a pair.

'These sandals are quite possibly the best thing since sliced bread. I got the retro ones so the colors alone make me happy. There was on fuss with the straps, the velcro is quality, there weren't any pieces of string or shrapnel cutting into my feet. The sole of the shoe is inexplicably supportive of the foot and there seems to be pretty good traction,' one glimmering review reads.

'I love these shoes. They are comfortable and durable. Perfect for the beach, hiking or just strolling around your neighborhood. The adjustable straps are nice too. I have a narrow foot and these still fit me,' says another.

'The perfect pattern, the perfect fit. There's a reason why Teva is a household name, and it's because they are the best sandals in the world. Will buy again, and again, and again,' a third goes on.
