The right pair of shoes can take even the simplest of outfits into high fashion territory, and Holly Willoughby clearly got the memo as she used one of this year’s most coveted flats to add some wow-factor to her daytime ensemble.

The star shared a snap on Instagram earlier this week showing off an outfit made up of a white shirt by Wyse and some blue Levi’s jeans, and then added a chic footnote with a pair of Sezane Nala Ballet Flats. The woven design has been a big hit with the fashion set over the last few months, and the pumps brought a stylish upgrade to her otherwise understated combination.

The raffia-style flats are ideal for right now as they are still very light and easy to wear in warm weather but will work well into autumn too, as the closed toe provides more coverage than your most comfortable sandals. As the Sezane shoes have been so popular, there are only a couple of sizes left, but the high street is packed with similar styles, so recreating Holly’s look couldn’t be easier.

Your footwear really can switch up your look, and the right pair can elevate your outfits with minimal effort. You can give even the oldest pair of wide-leg jeans or a very basic dress a fresh new spin by popping on some stylish pumps - it's just down to choosing the right shoe.

Holly's Sezane flats are a great example of chic footwear that makes a statement while still being very understated and wearable. You don't need a bright colour or bold pattern; it's just down to the right shape and design. A neutral-toned, woven pair means you have plenty of versatility too, as they will work with absolutely everything in your autumn capsule wardrobe. If you invest now, you'll be wearing them on repeat until it's time to swap to your best knee-high boots or most comfortable trainers in a few weeks.
