We're all starting to think about Christmas, whether that's what to wear for festive events or what to gift your loved ones. Jewellery truly can be the answer to both - if you've got a favourite old little black dress, a gold necklace will make it feel fresh, but jewellery is also a great idea for gifting.

You probably know Missoma and Monica Vinader, but is Alex Monroe on your radar? It's a British brand that's been worn by none other than Kate Middleton and Duchess Sophie, and their signature bee necklace has just gone straight to the top of my Christmas wish list.

Dame Emma Thompson has worn the Teeny Tiny Bumblee necklace on several occasions, but she's pictured below wearing it at a screening of The Dead of Winter in September last year.

Alex Monroe is known for nature-inspired designs, with the bee motif offering a charming nod to the natural world. Bees also have a great deal of symbolism, so they can be a very thoughtful present, plus Emma's necklace is a reminder that sometimes the smallest accessories can make the biggest impact.

While seasonal accessories can come and go, a beautifully made necklace like this one is something you'll wear on repeat, year after year. Wear it layered as Emma did for a contemporary look, or let it take centre stage with a white shirt or simple knit.

Alex Monroe also recently launched their autumn collection, which is full of whimsical shapes like pinecones and poppy seeds.
