This £3 Daise deodorant smells so good - and has kept me fresh through every heatwave

From warding off sweat to layering beautifully with all my go-to perfumes, this scented deodorant has swiftly become an everyday essential.

Warding away sweaty odour, whilst also complementing all my signature fragrances with its surprisingly chic and lingering scent, this £3 Daise deodorant has won a permanent spot in my daily routine.

Something to know about me is that I take great pride in my scent. My favourite compliment is being told I smell good, so naturally, I'm very militant about my hygiene routine. My choice of body wash to the long-lasting perfume I'm wearing are all steps I take very seriously indeed. Though none more so than my everyday deodorant. After all, even the chicest and priciest of perfumes - while possessing the ability to trail you with luxe notes - can't do much to fight essence of eau de B.O.

Having a reliable, proven deodorant (be it a stick or spray) is therefore essential, especially in the summertime, and I've found one that not only smells great but actually works to keep body odour at bay, even in excessive heat and humidity. Oh, and best of all, it's only £3 and available at your local Boots.

The £3 Daise deodorant I swear by for smelling good all day, every day

A busy commute, a long office day and 30-degree heat are truly a hellish combination for staying fresh and good-smelling all day. Thanks to this Daise deodorant, though, I've escaped being a sweaty mess by 5 pm this summer. Well, armpit-wise anyway, I can't claim to have not been left looking a bit dishevelled at points during all these heatwaves, though I can definitely say it would all have been made a lot worse without this gorgeous-smelling and seriously cheap body spray.

I have the scent 'XOXO', which marries spicy hints of saffron and warm amber with cedarwood and musky rose. As far as my favourite perfumes for women go, I'm very much a woody-floral girl (Diptyque Fleur de Peau and Orphéon are among my go-tos), so this body spray is my taste to a T and complements them all beautifully. And don't let its £3 price point or bright, slighty youthful-looking packaging deceive you - it actually smells very chic and lingers well.

Personally, I use it more as a deodorant than a body spray, though I like that it can do both. I haven't found it to be at all irritating (and I do have quite sensitive pits). It's also aluminium-free, which I didn't know existed in this kind of aerosol format, but I was very pleased to discover it, having made the switch to natural stick deodorants a few years ago.

Personally, I've tried many a spray formula in my time and never found them to be massively impressive, but this one really surprised me - from its unexpectedly sophisticated scent to its price. You really get a lot for that £3.

Regardless of whether I'm applying it in the morning to keep me covered while I'm out and about, or ahead of a sweaty gym session, it does such a great job of keeping my underarms fresh. I will say, though, it doesn't completely stop you from sweating; rather, it combats any smell.

It works well alone, but I also like layering it over a stick deodorant, specifically Salt & Stone's Lily and Yuzu one, just for extra, extra protection, and because I like the combined scent. So if you already have a favourite deo or love to layer your body buys, this Daise is such a versatile option. It's also been road-tested, so to speak, in many a heatwave, which can't be said for some options out there.
