It's a truth universally acknowledged that M&S is home to some of the most popular beauty products around. Sales of this cult neck cream doubled during the first lockdown, while the predecessor to this sleeping night oil has sold out completely four times.

And now, fans of the M&S beauty hall have discovered a £12 cleansing balm that rivals higher end versions that cost upwards of £40. So, if you're not quite able to stretch to famous luxury beauty products, this is one for you.

More from woman&home:

The cleansing balm in question is none other than M&S's own brand Ultimate Cleanse Rose Cleansing Balm, which comes in a 100g pot with a cleansing cloth.

"I purchased this having previously used a similar product from another well know brand that costs £40 upwards," writes one five-star reviewer. "I thought it was worth a go and in all honesty, didn't expect too much.

"Well - I was totally wrong! This is amazing, smells delicious, looks after my skin beautifully and even gently but effectively removes eye make-up. I will not be returning to my previous brand and am 100% converted to the Pure Balm."
