Aldi launches first ever countdown to New Year advent – and it’s filled with beauty favourites
This is a change we can get on board with!
Aldi has launched the first ever countdown to New Year advent calendar.
Long gone are the days when advent calendars meant rushing down to the kitchen in the morning for a morsel of cardboard-esque chocolate that somehow tasted a million times better than milky Cadbury.
These days advent calendars see most of us trying out a new beauty product on the daily, being rewarded at the end of the day with a different type of wine or G&T, or even ending up with a curiously flavoured nut, curry spice blend or pork scratching – we kid you not.
But the geniuses at budget supermarket Aldi have decided to take things one step further.

While most of the brands in our lives have spent years coming out with their own versions of beauty advent calendars for Christmas, the always reliable bargain retailer has decided to skip out on the countdown to 25th December altogether, in favour of a countdown to another special day – 1st January.
The high-street supermarket is launching a Countdown to NY Advent Calendar, which will run from Boxing Day (26th December) to New Year’s Eve (31st December).

The six-day advent calendar will be filled with customers’ beauty favourites, so that they can make the most out of their go-to Lacura skincare and fragrance buys, without being overloaded with a 24 days worth of unnecessary products.
Plus it will set you back only £14.99 – a bargain compared to other beauty calendars out there.
But is it for you? Look away now to avoid New Year spoilers!
Behind the first window customers will find a bottle of the retailer’s popular Healthy Glow Retinol Toner.
Containing antioxidants and 5 per cent Niacinamide, the tonic eases redness, reduces signs of ageing and battles blemishes.
This will be followed by Aldi’s Lacura Golden Glow Mask with hyaluronic acid to hydrate and the famous Lacura Pink Clay Hot Cloth Cleanser, which uses a concoction of soothing natural ingredients, including cocoa butter and pink clay to gently cleanse the skin.
The fourth day will see Lacura’s Gentle Facial Moisturiser, which uses eucalyptus oil, vitamin E and rosemary extracts to give the skin some TLC in the cold winter months.
With just one day until NYE, the penultimate window will feature Lacura’s cult Healthy Glow Rose Oil, an affordable version of Duchess Kate’s favourite facial oil, which will leave skin with a natural glow ready for the big night.
Finally, customers will be rewarded with a miniature version of the retailer’s Luxury Bitter Orange Eau de Toilette to give an elegant finish to any New Year’s Eve outfit.
The exciting calendar will be available in stores across the country from 21st November.
We recommended you mark your diaries, because we don’t expect this one will be around for long.
