Fans of Downton Abbey are having a big year. Not only did we find out a movie sequel is headed to theaters this Christmas, but while we countdown the days to the premiere, fans can also book a stay at one of the famous cottages from the show (through the platform Love Home Swap).
Love Home Swap (opens in new tab) is a members-only platform that allows users to swap homes around the world. Much like the 2006 rom-com The Holiday, you can swap your home with another user for a vacation getaway. Whether it's a simultaneous swap or non-coordinated, travel whenever you like wherever you want (including a famous filming location from the show).
More from woman&home:
• The best bras for every shape and size
• The best foundation for oily skin
• The best yoga mats for stretching and meditation
Alnwick, England, was home to various filming locations from the show, including the renowned Alnwick Castle. But for super fans, a stay at The Falstaff House is a must. The stone cottage features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a private patio, and a quaint living room with a wood stove. You can even book a stay on Airbnb (opens in new tab).
If you're ready to hit the beach, the cottage is also only located four miles away from the closest one. You'll also only be a five-minute walk from town, where you can enjoy a cup of tea at one of the various tea shops. Imagine putting on your most regal outfits for a nice cup of tea with friends or if you're looking for something more casual, hit up one of the English pubs for a drink.
As travel slowly begins to resume, make sure to book a stay and get a sneak peek into how some of your favorite Downton Abbey characters lived.
