The Queen pranked some royal tourists who were on the look out for her during a trip to Australia years ago and her reaction was hilarious, according to her former lady-in-waiting.

  • Lady Pamela Hicks, the Queen's former lady-in-waiting and close friend, shared details of the moment Her Majesty played a cheeky trick on some royal onlookers hoping to catch a glimpse of her.
  • Speaking in an ITV documentary, Lady Pamela recalled how the Queen displayed her brilliant sense of humor by putting the tourists off the scent and finding it hilarious.
  • This royal news comes after it was revealed that the Queen's go-to takeaway is a greasy treat that Meghan Markle and Duchess Camilla love too.

Reminiscing on the Queen's coronation tour of Australia in 1953 that she joined the monarch on all those years ago, Lady Pamela recounted that the Queen rarely had downtime that allowed her to escape from royal fans.

Speaking in ITV documentary, My Years With The Queen, Pamela delves into her diary entries written during the big trip, sharing details of Her Majesty's rarely-seen cheeky side.

Lady Pamela, who was a bridesmaid at the Queen and Prince Philip's wedding, read, "She cheered up considerably when a boatload of trippers appeared shouting whether we had seen The Queen, where is she?"

Referring to Her Majesty by her sweet childhood nickname, she continued to say, "Lilibet in slacks tore down to the beach, pointed to the other side of the island and yelled, 'she went that-a-way' and jumped up and down with joy as the boat disappeared around the corner."

And years after the Queen pranked the boat of Aussie tourists, Her Majesty played a similar trick on some American holidaymakers who were on a trip to Scotland, nearby to her Balmoral Castle estate.

According to one of her former protection officers, the Queen was asked by some unaware visitors from the States if she had ever met the Queen, during a walk in her headscarf and outdoors gear.

According to The Times, the Queen referenced officer Richard Griffin and replied, "No... but this policeman has!"
