The Queen's Royal jewels are admired by her legions of fans across the globe. From her stunning Burmese Ruby Tiara, to the Williamson pink diamond, and even the not-so-lucky cursed Strawberry Leaf Tiara—it's safe to say Her Majesty has one of the most enviable jewelry collections on the globe.
However, during a photoshoot in Buckingham Palace back in 2007, Annie inadvertently revealed that she's not so into all the bling.
In a behind-the-scenes video, of the shoot in question, the photographer is heard saying, “I think it will look better without the crown." She then adds, "Could we try without the crown? It will look better… less dressy. Because the garter robe is so…”
Before Annie can finish speaking her mind about the Queen's look, she's cut off by the monarch. “Less dressy?” said the Queen looking and sounding a bit ticked off, “What do you think this is?"
The Queen, looking super regal in her fur cape and holding a scepter, laughs as she makes the comment.
Her Majesty's dresser then politely informed the photographer that once that crown comes off, it can’t be put back on for the rest of the photoshoot.
“It can’t? Okay," replied Annie. “Um, well, maybe… I have an idea, let’s take a couple frames with it on, then we’ll take it off and leave it off for the rest of the shooting. Is that okay?”
The Queen agreed but added she'd need to get her hair fixed after removing the crown.
This isn't the first time the Queen showed her humorous side, nor the first time she had a chuckle during a shoot. In fact, a royal photographer made the Queen giggle when he addressed her with a cheeky nickname during a portrait sitting.
