Ever dreamt of working for the Royal Household? Find out how you could be in with a chance of rubbing shoulders with the Queen at Windsor Castle.
Her Majesty the Queen is looking to hire a new Building Supervisor and a Maintenance Technician. And the lucky employees could bag up to £30,000 a year for the roles.
According to the Royal Household website, the Maintenance Technician will help create "sustainable infrastructures for the oldest castle in the world." And the position is an "essential part in the upkeep of Windsor Castle".
But you'll need to be good with your hands, as the job advert says, "You’ll carry out a mixture of planned and reactive maintenance, playing an essential part in the upkeep of Windsor Castle. You’ll check machinery, locate faults and regularly service our systems, as well as undertake a variety of electrical and mechanical repairs and minor installations."
The Building Supervisor role, on the other hand, has a focus on "preserving historic structures" - ones that could often present some challenges.
"The size, complexity and heritage of the Royal residences will present you with some truly fascinating, and often unique, challenges," according to the Royal Household website.
And it's not just about preserving the older sites, but looking to the future as well. "In all you do, you’ll take a long-term view, planning for the future, modernising our systems and finding new ways to achieve great efficiencies. And the variety of your work, maintaining the fabric of our historic estates, will continue to inspire you," the job advert states.
Bagging a job at the palace isn't as easy as you might hope, but James Hasher has given Hello! some top tips to getting noticed.
"Keep your language tight to the job description, answer the points they have asked for and add what makes you special - but don’t overdo it," he revealed.
