Princess Eugenie reveals the sweet moment Prince Philip met baby August
The royal reveals all in the BBC documentary about her grandad this week
Princess Eugenie has revealed the sweet moment that her son, August, met his great grandfather, Prince Philip, before he passed away in April.
- Princess Eugenie gave birth to baby August in February 2021, and most assumed Prince Philip had never met his great-grandson.
- However, the royal has revealed, on the new BBC documentary, they met in a sweet moment before he died in April.

It was only months before his passing, but Princess Eugenie has revealed that her son did meet his great-grandad Prince Philip before he died in April 2021.
The Princess told of the sweet meeting on a teaser for Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers, which is set to air Wednesday, September 22, 2021 on the BBC.

Talking on the documentary, the Princess says, "I brought little August to come and meet him. I told him that we'd named him after him. It was such a lovely moment. We were very lucky to do that."
Princess Eugenie is referring to one of August's middle names which is Philip—with his full name being August Philip Hawke Brooksbank. The royal gave birth to her son in Portland Hospital on February 9, 2021. At the time she shared a sweet photo, of her son's tiny hands, to announce his arrival.
Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack also shared a family photo on Instagram a week later, as she said, "We wanted to introduce you to August Philip Hawke Brooksbank. Thank you for so many wonderful messages. Our hearts are full of love for this little human, words can't express. We are excited to be able to share these photos with you."

Eugenie has also shared her loss, when her grandfather, the Duke of Edinm=burgh passed away in April, via Instagram.

She posted a sweet tribute with a recent picture of the pair, along with an old photo, when she was little. She also said, "Dearest Grandpa, We all miss you. You would be so touched by all the tributes that have been shared with me the past few days. People remember sitting next to you at a dinner, or shaking your hand once, who remember you saying hello in passing, or remember how much their DofE award meant to them."
"I remember learning how to cook, how to paint, what to read. I remember laughing at your jokes and asking about your spectacular life and service in the navy.
I remember incinerating the sausages and you swooping in to save the day.
I remember your hands and your laugh and your favourite beer. I will remember you in your children, your grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Thank you for your dedication and love for us all and especially Granny, who we will look after for you."
Eugenie's full interview, along with others from the royal family, will be part of the documentary titled, Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers and will be available to view on BBC One at 9pm on September 22 2021.
