Royal fans rush to congratulate Princess Eugenie on very exciting patronage announcement

Princess Eugenie took to Instagram to share an exciting new patronage with fans.

Princess Eugenie is passionate about global efforts to end slavery, and even has her own independent organisation, The Anti Slavery Collective, that she co-founded with best friend Julia de Boinville.

Now she's proudly announced that she's the new patron of Anti-Slavery International, in an Instagram post featuring two photographs of Princess Eugenie and members of the organisation.

In her caption, she wrote, ‘On Anti-Slavery Day today, I am proud to announce that I am becoming a Patron of Anti-Slavery International @antislaveryinternational They are an inspiring team who are working tirelessly to end Modern Day Slavery and Human Trafficking.

‘Founded by one of the original English abolitionists, Thomas Clarkson in 1839, this organisation is turning 180 years old this year and it's an honour to join them in their mission.

She added, ‘I met with the team recently and last night joined CEO Jasmine O'Conner and fellow patron Baroness Lola Young.

Followers were quick to offer support for the Princess’ new patronage. One wrote, ‘Great that you are lending your support to this very worthy cause.👏👏👏'.

Another agreed, saying, ‘A very important cause.. Well done in supporting this!’

A third said, ‘this is brilliant and still such an issue today, sadly. Congratulations.’

A fourth added, ‘Excellent choice for you and with you. We must stop crimes again humanity and your position will bring this more into the public eye.’

Princess Eugenie is a patron of many organisations, including the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore. When she was 12, she underwent back surgery here and is a patron to support others.

She has an accommodation unit named after her here, called ‘Princess Eugenie House’.

Alongside her sister Princess Beatrice and mother Sarah, Duchess of York, she is also patron of Teenage Cancer Trust, which supports young people diagnosed with the illness.
