Prince William had to give up his dream career because his grandmother Queen Elizabeth insisted on it, according to a royal expert.

Simon Vigar explained in the Channel 5 documentary 'William and Kate: Too Good to be True' why the future King was not permitted to continue his service in the British armed forces.
He said: "William was desperate to stay in the military and of course he trained to be a helicopter pilot.
"But in the end, he wasn't allowed anywhere near the frontline.
"The ultimate boss said no because he is second-in-line to the throne."
He added that the Duke of Cambridge retrained so that he could use his skills to help others.
He said: "He retrained as a search and rescue pilot on Anglesey.
"He helped save many, many lives flying that yellow helicopter around the British Isles.
"So that gave him a meaningful role. And that meant an awful lot to him."
This follows royal news that Princess Diana's cute nickname for Prince William was revealed.
The late Diana, Princess of Wales, used to call William “wombat” when he was a child.
"I can’t get rid of it now. It began when I was two,” William said.
“I’ve been rightfully told because I can’t remember back that far, but when we went to Australia with our parents, and the wombat, you know, that’s the local animal.
“So I just basically got called that, not because I look like a wombat, or maybe I do.”
