A picture of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex seems to have mysteriously disappeared from Queen’s Audience Room.
- A photo of Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry has vanished from the Queen's Audience Room at Buckingham Palace.
- The portrait was present a few months ago but new images reveal that it is no longer there.
- This follows theroyal newsthatthe Duke and Duchess of Sussex opened up about their struggles in a ITV documentary.
A picture of the Duke and Duchess, which usually sits on a table in the Queen’s Audience Room, has disappeared.
The portrait went on display after the couple’s wedding in May 2018.
Photographs taken at the palace reveal that it was on show in July - when Boris Johnson was made Prime Minister.
But new pictures show the object nowhere to be seen when Her Majesty met with the High Commissioner for Grenada, Kisha Alexander-Grant, earlier this week.
It previously stood between two other framed photographs - one of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and another of William and Harry in military uniforms.
What makes matters more intriguing is that the other two photos still remain on the table.
It’s worth pointing out that this isn’t the first time portraits have been moved in the Audience Room.
The photos of Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry and the two brothers replaced a photo of the Queen’s daughter, Anne, with her husband Timothy Laurence.
Naturally, there has been a lot of speculation around the missing portrait.
It’s thought the photo may have been taken down to respect the couple’s privacy - especially following the their ITV documentary, which was released at the weekend.
In the programme the couple revealed they were struggling with the pressures of royal life - particularly, the media.
Speaking to Tom Bradby in the documentary, Meghan said, “Any woman, especially when they are pregnant, you are really vulnerable and so that was made really challenging.
“And then when you have a newborn, you know? And especially as a woman it’s really, it’s really a lot."
A spokesperson for Buckingham Palace has said they will not be commenting on the missing picture.
Despite speculation, the picture could have been moved to a less-cramped position, or taken to be cleaned.
