Prince Charles to ‘cut down’ Royal Family and ‘ditch’ these close relatives, biographer predicts
The Prince of Wales reportedly has big plans for the future
Prince Charles is planning to “cut down” the Royal Family and certain close relatives will likely be "ditched" in the future, according to a royal biographer.
- It’s claimed that Prince Charles has wanted to streamline the monarchy “for a very long time” in order to “save costs”.
- A royal biographer has suggested that those who are on the “outer edge” might have their positions adjusted - including two of Prince Charles’ closest relatives.
- In other royal news, The Crown producers are reportedly struggling to find an actor to play Prince Andrew in the upcoming season.
Prince Charles was reportedly a “pillar of strength” for his mother the Queen during his late father Prince Philip’s time in hospital earlier this year. Now following the sad passing of the Duke of Edinburgh on April 9, Charles will likely be supporting Her Majesty even more at this difficult time. As the future king, he is first in the royal line of succession and though the line will change when Prince Harry and Meghan’s second child is born, it will not affect his position.
The Prince of Wales is thought to be included in the Queen’s so-called Firm of Eight and reportedly played a key role in helping to compose her “careful and constructive” response to Harry and Meghan’s Oprah interview. So much so that it’s claimed he wanted to release a "point by point" statement addressing their shocking claims, before settling on a more succinct response.
Despite this, however, a royal biographer has now predicted that Charles will likely want to adjust the way the Royal Family is structured in the future. According to author Angela Levin, who has written a biography on Prince Harry, Charles is keen for “change”.
How will Prince Charles change the Royal Family?
During an interview on talkRADIO, Angela discussed how she believes things within the Royal Family structure might change thanks to Prince Charles.
"Prince Charles has wanted for a very long time to cut the monarchy down to save costs and to make people be worth the money that they got from the taxpayer,” she explained.

"I imagine that that might be when Harry and Meghan are ditched from being members of the Royal Family.

"I think the outer edge, which the Queen has wanted to keep together for a very long time for sentimental reasons, which at her age she didn't really particularly want change which is understandable.
"But he wants to change and I think he will do that," Angela claimed.

If this turns out to be the case, then it could be that whilst the Royal Family currently has many working royals, including several of the Queen’s cousins and children, this might become restricted to Charles and Duchess Camilla, Prince William, Duchess Catherine, as well as their children in the future.
How will Prince Charles support the Queen following Prince Philip’s death?
But this wasn’t the only prediction Angela made during the interview, as she went on to express her belief that Prince Charles will take a larger role now. In particular, it’s understood that Her Majesty intends to attend the State Opening of Parliament next month and Angela believes he will join her.
"He will also accompany the Queen, she's said she's going to be there opening Parliament on May 11th and Prince Charles will be accompanying her,” she said.

"I think although she wants to do her duties she will step back, even more, it'll be quite hard to come back after the pandemic and all the isolation.
"In fact, she will be grateful for him taking over and making I imagine quite big decisions on behalf of the royal family."
The Queen has already given up control of one major royal duty and handed it to Prince Charles ahead of him becoming king.
And with the devastating loss of her husband of 73 years, it’s likely that Prince Charles will continue to be a great comfort and support to Her Majesty as she returns to royal duties after her period of royal mourning.
