Kate Middleton's wetsuit and sleek ponytail proved practical can be perfect as she wowed at her latest engagement in Plymouth.
- The Duchess of Cambridge visited the 1851 Trust and got involved in a race alongside Sir Ben Ainslie and the Great Britain Sail GP Team.
- Kate Middleton’s wetsuit look showed she was just part of the team as they raced against New Zealand.
- This royal news comes as the Queen sent a heartfelt congratulatory message to the Lionesses, calling them ‘inspiration for future generations’.
She might be the future Queen Consort but over the years Kate Middleton has proved she’s not afraid to get stuck in when it comes to sporting activities. After taking over from Prince Harry as Patron of the Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League earlier this year, Kate unveiled her rugby talent on social media. Whilst her hockey skills have also been put to the test at the Olympic Park back in 2012. Now the Duchess of Cambridge has showcased her sailing abilities during a visit to the 1851 Trust and the Great Britain Sail GP Team in Plymouth.
The engagement saw Kate Middleton’s wetsuit look prove that being practical can be perfect as she took to the waves with a sleek ponytail.
Taking to social media, the Duchess of Cambridge shared sweet snaps from the day of engagements and explained more about the 1851 Trust’s Protect Our Future programme.
This helps give young people the knowledge and skills they need to understand climate science and take positive action, inspiring people through sport to be more aware of sustainability. They aim to protect not only our planet’s oceans and nature, but also its human inhabitants, and Kate is their Royal Patron.
The Duchess discovered more about their important work before sailing with Olympian Sir Ben Ainslie and the Great Britain Sail GP Team at the Sail Grand Prix in a race against New Zealand. For this special part of the visit, Kate Middleton’s wetsuit look was the perfect choice.
Emblazoned with the Great Britain flag on the chest, the black wetsuit with vibrant orange stripes running along the sleeves made her look completely at home aboard the F50 foiling catamaran. Pairing the wetsuit with an equally functional accessory - a gray Team GB hat - Kate Middleton’s glossy hair looked as wonderful as ever.
Tied back in a sleek ponytail and fed through the back of her cap, the Duchess’ long tresses were kept away from her face for the race and looked as shiny and healthy as we've come to expect.
RRP: $130 / £100 | Designed for short distances and everyday use, this classic three stripe trainer is a style Kate first debuted back in 2016. Although Kate's chosen colorway is no longer available, this classic black and white version has the same sporty feel.
Duchess Kate finished off the look with Adidas Pureboost trainers complete with bright turquoise laces for a splash of color.
Not only was the future Queen practical and stylish, but she also helped the team secure victory over New Zealand in the race. Though this isn’t the first time that Kate Middleton has been pictured sailing over the years, she’s understood to have some impressive skills.
During their somewhat controversial Caribbean Tour ahead of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend, both Kate and Prince William took to the sea in a special regatta held in The Bahamas. Whilst reports have previously claimed that Kate Middleton taught Prince George and Charlotte to sail over their summer vacation last year. With many weeks of school break left to be enjoyed, it’s possible that the family could get to enjoy sailing together again this year.
