Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, enjoyed an adventurous day out, where she took part in sailing activities and met with sailing teams from both the UK and New Zealand.

For the occasion, the Duchess donned a simple, yet classically stylish, nautical ensemble, as well as her signature Superga trainers.
The Duchess paired her look with a bouncy blow dry, natural makeup and elegant gold hoops.

Today the Duchess made an appearance at the Sail Grand Prix (Sail GP) at Trinity Pier in Plymouth and took part in a Commonwealth Race alongside Britain's Team, as well as taking part in activities that promote sustainability.

Duchess Catherine's look for the day was suitably nautical and a big departure from the glamorous Kate Middleton dresses we're used to seeing on the Duchess.

The Duchess of Cambridge sported an on-trend navy blue sweater with nautical stripes for the occasion and white linen shorts with gold button detailing from designer Holland Taylor, along with her favorite sneaker brand - Superga.

Kate's trainers are often bought from this simple Italian brand, and the 'Cotu' variety are perfect for an active day out like this.

The Duchess is a royal patron of the 1851 Trust, which aims to help young people explore science and technology through sport.

During her visit to Plymouth, she spoke with 12-year-old Jersey schoolboy Ben Carnegie-Bedlow showed the Duchess how to sow the plants. “She did it exactly right,” he said. “It was a good job.

“She asked me if I was interested in sailing and I do sail. I also really love the ocean.”
