Kate Middleton hoped Meghan and Harry could be 'pulled back in' before Oprah tell-all

And it seems she's keeping that mindset—here's why

Kate Middleton wanted to keep a positive mindset. Despite the year-long tension between Prince William and Prince Harry—which the Oprah tell-all significantly escalated—the Duchess of Cambridge has attempted to remain unfazed by the disagreements and accusations. She even believed that it wasn't too late for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to be "pulled back in" to the Firm.

• The Telegraph's royal expert, Camilla Tominey, alleges in a new article that the Duchess of Cambridge thought it wasn't too late for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to rekindle their relationship with the royal family before the Oprah sit-down.
• New claims indicate that it is likely Kate still feels this way, and it seemingly has nothing to do with Harry or Meghan.
• In other royal news, Prince William follows the Queen's footsteps with these mannerisms.

It seemed Kate Middleton didn't want to lose hope.

The Telegraph's Camilla Tominey alleges that the Duchess of Cambridge believed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle still had time to settle things with the royal family before their groundbreaking sit-down with Oprah.

"I have been reliably informed she was even telling her friends before the Oprah interview that she did not think it was too late to 'pull them back in,'' Camilla wrote in Stella, the paper's magazine.

Although it's been several months since the Oprah interview aired—and quite a bit has happened since then—it's likely that Kate is still hoping for a reconciliation. Why? Because of the children.

Kate wants her children and their cousins to be close with one another, and considering Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's daughter is on the way shortly, now is the perfect time to attempt to patch things up. A source also revealed to the Telegraph that it is in Kate's nature to "smooth things over," and we even caught a glimpse of her peacemaker role at Prince Philip's funeral.

We can only hope that tensions fade.
