The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry and Meghan, met the Queen on Thursday after flying into the UK, a spokesperson for the couple confirmed. The couple visited Her Majesty at Windsor on their way to The Hague, in the Netherlands, for the Invictus Games, marking the first time all three have been reunited in over two years.

The Queen, who has now left Buckingham Palace and moved to Windsor Castle, welcomed two very special guests to her new full-time home this week, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Her Majesty got to welcome her son and daughter-in-law to Windsor Castle, marking the first time all three have been together since early 2020.

After months of speculation around Prince Harry ever returning to the UK with his family—with reports that he felt he was "not safe" in the UK—Harry and Meghan made the lowkey visit after their "hostile environment training" was revealed ahead of their visit to the Hague.

Prince Harry was last reported to be in the UK in July, most recently missing out on the memorial of his grandfather, Prince Philip, while Meghan is not thought to have been in the country since 2020.

It’s understood that Meghan and Harry flew from Los Angeles to London on a commercial flight Tuesday night—leaving Archie and Lilibet at home— and later had a “meeting” with both the Queen and Charles.

Though Harry visited the UK twice during 2021, Meghan and their children didn’t join him on either trip. In the months following, he has entered a lengthy (and public) court battle with the British government when they denied his request to fund his own security when he visits the country.

In a February hearing, Harry’s lawyer said he “does not feel safe when he is in the UK given the security arrangements.”

While it may have been some time since Meghan was last in the UK, it's understood she has had contact with senior members of the Royal Family before now.

During an appearance on The Late Late Show in 2021 Prince Harry revealed that the monarch had used Zoom to video call the family.

Harry and Meghan's visit to the Queen and Prince Charles comes as the pair are on their way to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands, which will take place from 16 to 22 April.

A film crew is expected to be joining the couple at the games as part of filming for a Netflix series called Heart Of Invictus.

The Invictus Games are close to Prince Harry's heart. He founded the games to aid the rehabilitation of injured or sick military personnel and veterans from across the globe.
