Duchess Sarah Ferguson gives vital update on Princess Beatrice’s wedding amid coronavirus cancellations

The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson has shared an update on her daughter Princess Beatrice’s upcoming wedding.

The Queen’s granddaughter’s big day, on which she hopes to wed fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, is under threat of being entirely cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Duchess Sarah has revealed that the wedding day, which the bride and groom had planned to have on the 29th of May this year, is now “in some doubt”.

Going on to share some happy news in within the uncertain situation, Sarah told 9Honey, “But, I have never seen Beatrice as happy as she is right now with Edo.”

Continuing to share some finer details for when the nuptials are able to go ahead, she said, “It will be a smaller occasion than Eugenie and Jack's wedding, because that's what Beatrice and Edo want.”

Duchess Sarah also spoke on an exciting project that she has in the pipeline.

This year, the red haired royal, who is the ex wife of the Queen’s son, Prince Andrew, is set to broaden her repertoire as a published author.

Duchess Sarah has already released over two-dozen children’s books and this year will see seven more added to her huge collection, thanks to a deal with Australian publisher Serenity Press.

Titles in the Duchess’ collection of work include Little Red, the sweet tory of a doll released back in 2003, plus Ballerina Rosie and Budgie Goes to Sea.

Now, Sarah has shared how working with the Aussie publisher has helped her feel more connected to a country close to her heart.

“My sister Jane lives in Australia. I love the beauty of the flora and fauna, the Indigenous people and their wonderful stories, as well as the friendly people,” she told 9Honey.

Opening up on the impact she hopes her literature will have on younger generations, she added, “In a world where children spend an alarming amount of time on screens, I hope my books encourage children to appreciate the beauty and physicality of reading a real publication.
