The Royal Christmas pudding video went down a storm on Instagram - but there was one surprising ingredient in the mix - royal chefs added 275ml of beer.
Beer hasn't traditionally been used in Christmas pudding since the late 16th century when it made up part of a porridge dish called frumenty.
Other more conventional ingredients for the festive pudding included raisins, mixed peel and currants. However, with the other alcoholic ingredients - rum and brandy - the pudding would be very boozy treat for the Queen and other members of the royal family.
Along with the video the post also said: "Today is Stir-up Sunday: traditionally the day when home cooks ‘stir up’ their Christmas pudding mixture on the Sunday before the Advent season - and the countdown to Christmas - begins."

"This year, chefs in the Royal kitchens have shared their recipe for a traditional Christmas pudding. We hope that some of you enjoy making it in your own homes." the post went on to say.
Royal fans loved the video, with nearly 600 thousand views and hundreds of comments about trying the royal recipe at home.
The post also guided royals fans on how to serve the pud on 25th December: "On Christmas Day, reheat your pudding in a bain-marie for 3-4 hours. Remove from the basin using a rounded knife or palette knife, flip out onto a plate, garnish or flambé and serve with brandy sauce and cream."
The video follows The Queen and Prince Phillip's 73rd wedding anniversary on Friday. Sharing a sweet picture of the royal couple on Instagram the snap showed them reading a handmade card from their grandchildren Princess Charlotte and Prince's George and Louis.
