Paul Rudd named sexiest man alive as Twitter fans demand to know the secret to his eternal youth

The actor joked that he’s “getting business cards made” after winning People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2021

Paul Rudd has swooped in and snagged the People’s Sexiest Man Alive title for 2021.

The Ant Man star succeeds Black Panther’s Michael B. Jordan who was voted Sexiest Man Alive for 2020.

Normally a divisive choice, Paul’s crowning as the Sexiest Man Alive has been well received by fans all over the internet.

After his new title was announced live on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, one fan wrote, “I’ve been in love with Paul Rudd since 1995, so yeah, he deserved that win.”

Many others used Paul’s new title to bring up the fact that he doesn’t seem to age.

One Twitter user, sharing the People magazine cover, suggested the photo could be from “either 1994, 2002, 2010 or 2021.”

E! News got in on the action, asking whether Paul will now share where “the fountain of youth is.”

Others referred to him as a “vampire”, striking a deal with the devil for eternal youth and not having aged a day since his 1995 movie, Clueless.

Fans aren't the only ones who wondering what fountain of youth he has been drinking from.

On his 52nd birthday earlier this year, superstar pal Jennifer Aniston posted on her Instagram, "You don’t age, which is weird, but we celebrate you anyway.”

Marvel co-star Mark Ruffalo also questioned, "Did I find the secret behind your eternal youth?"

Despite such a positive reaction to his People's Sexiest Man Alive title so far, the This is 40 actor isn’t expecting an easy ride from everyone.

He told People magazine he is fully expecting his circle of friends to give him “so much grief” following his win.

“As they should. I would. I mean I’m going to lean into it hard. I’m going to own this. I’m not going to try to be like ‘Oh, I’m so modest.’”

“I’m getting business cards made,” he joked. “But all of my friends will destroy me and I expect them to. And that’s why they’re my friends.”

His wife of 18 years, Julie Yaeger, was “stupefied” by the announcement, Paul revealed, saying, "After some giggling and shock, she said 'Oh, they got it right.' And that was very sweet. She was probably not telling the truth, but what’s she going to say?"
