Chloe Lattanzi has paid tribute to her late mother and 'best friend', Olivia Newton-John, with a powerful post on social media.

The 36-year-old took to Instagram yesterday to honor the Grease star, who died in California on Monday (August 8) after a 30-year-long journey with breast cancer.

The heartwarming update comes amid a flood of tributes for Olivia Newton-John from grieving celebrities, including John Travolta, Oprah Winfrey, and Kylie Minogue.

Chloe Rose Lattanzi, Olivia's only daughter, shared a photo carousel of happy memories from her close relationship with the Australian superstar shortly after the sad news broke.

In the first snap, the pair can be seen exchanging a precious kiss, while in the second, Olivia is smiling while holding a baby Chloe beneath the sun. Photos from the mother-daughter duo's adult years, including recent shots of them filming an interview, are also featured.

Two days before Olivia died, Chloe shared a stunning photo of her and her mother for her 83k followers. She captioned the image, which shows the two women in matching white outfits, with a simple one-liner of adoration.

"I worship this woman," she wrote. "My mother. My best friend."

Who is Olivia Newton-John's daughter, Chloe Lattanzi?

The only daughter of Olivia Newton-John and actor Matt Lattanzi, Chloe Lattanzi was born on January 17, 1986, in Los Angeles. She was raised by her showbiz parents on an idyllic ranch in Australia until the age of 11, when they decided to get a divorce (for reasons which remain unknown).

Despite her mother's Hollywood royal status, Chloe's childhood was relatively detached - figuratively and literally - from the glitz and glamor of La La Land. In fact, it was only when she grew up that she realized just how much of a global superstar Olivia was.

"As a kid, I wasn't paying attention to her as a celebrity," she revealed to People magazine in 2021. "She's my mom, you know? Like, she takes me to school. I think as I've gotten older, that's when I got to listening to her music."

Chloe inherited many of her mother's talents, including her impressive dance skills and razor-sharp acting chops. She began to hone her craft early, making her small screen debut with the 1994 TV film, A Christmas Romance, when she was just eight years old. She has also appeared in Dead 7 (2016) and Sharknado 5: Global Swarming in 2017, starring alongside Olivia in both movies.

As for dancing, Chloe proved her wicked footwork on the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars in 2020. She and her professional partner, Gustavo Viglio, narrowly missed out on the Semi-Finals after being eliminated in Week 6. Despite being booted off, Chloe said that the experience "helped me so much and made me such a stronger person."

In 2021, she flexed her vocal skills alongside Olivia on the powerful ballad, Window in the Wall. The duet included lyrics calling for unity, prompting some listeners to believe it was inspired by the turbulent times surrounding US President Joe Biden's election.

Chloe has also been vulnerable about her personal struggles in past interviews, revealing in 2013 that she was residing in a sober living facility after completing a stint in rehab for addiction issues. The ordeal greatly challenged both mother and daughter, but not enough to break their steely bond.

'We both struggled - me with addiction, anxiety, and anorexia, and Mum with feeling helpless during my darkest hours,' Chloe revealed in 2018. She then described the media coverage of her story as "horrifying to me" and recalled Olivia's desperate efforts to get her help.

"We were just talking about it and she said to me, 'I did everything I could. I sent you to every specialist, every person I thought might be able to help,'" she wrote. "I told her, 'You know Mum, all I really needed was you.''
