While promoting her new comedy-horror TV series Shining Vale, set to premiere on Starz on March 6, beloved actor Courteney Cox got very candid about her age—she's 57—and her previous cosmetic procedures.
While chatting with the Sunday Times, Courteney, who recently revealed her hidden talent in a surprise Natasha Bedingfield collaboration, opened up about the pressure that women and men in Hollywood feel to constantly look young.
"I chased that youthfulness for years," said the Friends alum. "I didn't realize that, 'Oh s--t, I'm actually looking really strange with injections and doing stuff to my face that I would never do now."
This isn’t the first time that Courteney tackles the subject in public. Back in 2017, the actor told NewBeauty (opens in new tab) that she regretted focusing on her looks so much. "You go to a doctor who would say, 'You look great but what would help is a little injection here or filler there,'" she said then. "So you walk out and you don't look so bad and you think, 'No one noticed, it's good.'"
Until, she explained, she went a bit overboard—and decided to dissolve some of her fillers. "I'm as natural as I can be," she revealed. "I feel better because I look like myself. I think that I now look more like the person that I was. I hope I do."
Slowly approaching 60, Courteney also told the Sunday Times about the feelings surrounding the age. "It's so hard to even hear or say," she said. "I can't believe it. There's nothing wrong with being 60 I just can't believe it. Time goes so fast There's no questions that I am more grounded, I've learned so much in my life—what to enjoy, what to try to do more of and what to let go of."
If you’re wondering how the actor keeps her skin looking youthful without the use of plastic surgery, you’re in luck as Courteney is pretty open about her beauty regiment.

In February of 2021, the self-proclaimed "product junkie" posted a pretty thorough video on Instagram highlighting her 5-minute makeup routine, which includes a mixture of KohGenDo's concealer and foundation and the Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Concealer Brush. "This [brush] is the key ingredient," she says in the clip. "I cover up any kind of red stuff. I put it around my mouth because everything is wrong with everything."
At the end of 2021, the actor also sang the praises of the Clarisonic brush to Popsugar. "I think cleaning your skin and moisturizing is the best beauty tip you could have," she told the outlet.
We’ll be sure to follow her advice.
