Catherine Zeta-Jones' dramatic transformation into Morticia Addams stuns fans - 'I’m screaming'

Talk about excellent casting choices: in a new photo released by Netflix earlier this week, Catherine Zeta-Jones shows off her remarkable transformation into Morticia Addams for the much-anticipated Tim Burton series Wednesday, scheduled to debut on the streaming platform before the end of the year.

Catherine, who just last year launched a clothing line, is seen in the new image alongside the rest of the main cast, including Jenna Ortega front-and-center as Wednesday in her iconic long braids and black polka-dot dress. 

Luis Guzmán stars as Morticia's husband Gomez, posing in a pin-striped suit right behind Isaac Ordonez as Pugsly, who is wearing a striped sweater, knee-length black pants and combat boots. 

Whether the series, based on the character of Wednesday Addams of The Addams Family, will be great is yet to be seen, but we can't argue against the amazing casting choices made obvious by this new photo.

Fans seem to be delighted with Catherine's in-character pose as well, taking to social media to profess their excitement for the upcoming eight-episode miniseries, which will focus on Wednesday's life as a high school student at Nevermore Academy.

"THEY LOOK AMAZING!!!🤩," one fan wrote on Instagram. 

"I'm screaming," yet another commented excitedly. 

"This cast tho👏," a third user noted.

Although fans were able to glimpse at Jenna-as-Wednesday in the first teaser-trailer for the show, which was released back in June, this is the first time that the world has seen the rest of the family.

But that's not all: today, a Wednesday!, Netflix dropped the first full trailer for the show. How appropriate, right?

In the clip, Catherine and Luis' characters are seen dropping off their daughter at Nevermore Academy following her expulsion from a "regular" school. 

"You will love Nevermore," Louis-as-Gomez says to Wednesday in the video. "It's a magical place where I met your mother. Fell in love."

“Finally you will be among peers who understand you," Catherine chimes in. "Maybe you'll even make some friends."

Catherine has previously opened up about the enormity of the role she has taken on, right before starting to shoot the series in Romania. "I'm so excited to be working with the great Tim Burton and the makeup and costume designer who I've worked with before, and with Luis Guzmán, playing Gomez, who I worked with on Traffic," she said to ET back in September. "It's going to be a really great camaraderie. I'm really looking forward to it."

The 51-year-old actor shared the cast photo on her own Instagram account as well, followed by another post with the newly-dropped trailer. In the latter upload, Catherine called the show a "twisted new series from the mind of Tim Burton." That description suddenly got us even more excited about the upcoming premiere (which we hope will happen sooner rather than later!).
