Britney Spears has baffled fans after referring to Sam Asghari as her 'husband', sparking speculation that the couple has already tied the knot in a secret wedding.
The US popstar fuelled rumors this week that she's married, six months after she first announced her engagement to her 28-year-old boyfriend. The exciting update follows the news that Britney is writing a book about her 13-year-long conservatorship, which restricted her personal and financial freedoms until last year.
In a lengthy Instagram post shared on Friday, Britney called the Iranian actor her 'HUSBAND'—adding an emoji of an engagement ring to further illustrate the message.
The caption accompanied two sultry photos of Sam, taken by the Toxic singer herself, posing in a white shirt against a tropical background. It comes just one day after Britney first declared the former personal trainer to be her husband, in a gushing tribute to Drew Barrymore and Kate Hudson.

Britney also told her 40m followers that she's been enjoying an escape from the media at an undisclosed resort, recommended to her by her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart. The US celebrity attorney, who has also represented Steven Spielberg and Sean Penn, played an instrumental role in releasing the singer from her controversial conservatorship last November.
"It's so mind-opening being in a resort where there is no paparazzi … for the first time in my life … I can actually be that girl who can act stuck up and talk to others about how I’m getting married … out at dinners," she wrote.
Britney then commented on the warm weather, revealing that 'coffee makes me sick' due to the heat and that she only wants 'ice water'. In another part of the post, she admitted she had 'walked into the glass doors [of her resort accommodation] looking at the beach', calling the blunder 'just one of those moments.'
The message was met by a flood of comments, many of which were congratulating Britney on her exciting nuptials and encouraging her to embrace her new life.
Not everyone was so quick to celebrate the A-lister's news, however. Some voiced concern over Britney's seemingly chaotic sentence structure, which has been evident in many of her posts since last year.
"I'm genuinely wondering if a real conversation with you goes like this, jumping from topic to topic," one person wrote. "Or maybe you're just too excited and new to your freedom, so you're expressing everything all at once. No shade, not trying to offend anyone, seriously. However, glad that you're happy."
