Meghan Markle's former co-star in NBC show Suits has hit out at her social media trolls via Twitter.
Patrick J Adams, who played her husband in the show, before she left to join the royal family, has blasted them by saying 'life is short' and calling them bots. This comes only months after it was found that Meghan Markle is the victim of a toxic social media campaign .
The actor, took to Twitter to complain about him being included in all the gossip surrounding Meghan, claiming he never reads it and that the 'bots' are wasting their time with their tweets.
Hello to the people and many bots debating all things Markle and including me in the conversation. I just want you to know a couple of things. 1. I don’t read any of it. 2. Life is short. 3. There has to got to be better things for you to be doing. Even you, bots. #botbetterJanuary 12, 2022
The actor, who worked with Meghan Markle for seven seasons of the show, wrote on the social media site, "Hello to the people and many bots debating all things Markle and including me in the conversation. I just want you to know a couple of things. 1. I don’t read any of it. 2. Life is short. 3. There has to got to be better things for you to be doing. Even you, bots. #botbetter".
Many of his fans agreed with him, with over 5000 people liking the post and hundreds of fans retweeting his words.
Some fans applauded him for standing up to the trolls, or bots, with one saying, “Everyone needs friends like this! Meghan has some of the best.” Another fan joked, “Patrick continuing to be the TV husband we all deserve.”
It's not the first time the actor, who is married, with two kids, has spoken up for his on-screen wife. After the news that a former member of staff at the Palace had complained about Meghan's behaviour he also wrote on Twitter, “Meghan Markle and I spent the better part of a decade working together on Suits.
"From day one she was an enthusiastic, kind, cooperative, giving, joyful and supportive member of our television family. She remained that person and colleague as fame, prestige and power accrued."
In 2017, Meghan officially retired from the entertainment industry after wrapping up filming on the seventh series of Suits. The Duchess played paralegal, Rachel Zane. Introduced in the show’s first season, Rachel eventually worked her way up the legal corporate ladder to become an attorney.
