Riding high on the success of Mare of Easttown, Kate Winslet continues to thrive, booking a new gig as the latest global spokesperson for L'Oreal Paris.

Kate, now 45, joins fellow actors Helen Mirren, 75, Viola Davis, 55, and Eva Longoria, 46, alongside 20-somethings, singer Camila Cabello and model Cindy Bruna.

Previously, Kate has been vocal about unrealistic beauty standards. She recently refused an offer from Mare of Easttown director Craig Zobel to edit out a shot of a "bulgy belly" and also requested the lines around her eyes were restored to a promotional poster. As long ago as 2003, she publicly criticised GQ magazine for digitally altering her image.

Having Kate join L'Oreal shows that women in midlife and beyond are being taken seriously as consumers, and as glamorous and sexy individuals.

"Kate Winslet is a true icon—in film and as a strong woman,” said Delphine Viguier-Hovasse the company's global president. “[She’s] an empowering voice in our mission at L’Oréal Paris: believe in yourself so the next generation doesn’t doubt it for a moment. With her talent for elevating women’s stories and supporting those without a voice, Kate Winslet shares our reason for being at L’Oréal Paris. To encourage women to know their worth, celebrate their beauty, and dare to be themselves.”

The beauty brand made the official announcement on its Instagram page.

"We are delighted to have the amazing Kate Winslet part of the #LOrealParisFamily! Please join us in welcoming Kate Winslet by sharing your love below!" the caption read.

"If there's anything that has shifted for me in the last year, it's that we can go easier on ourselves. We can just relax a little bit," Kate said in an interview with Harpers Bazaar. "I think we scrutinize ourselves a lot. Just not looking in the mirror quite so much has been really relaxing."

Her first campaign with the brand will be for L'Oreal Paris Preference Hair Color. The adverts will be released later this month.
