  • Cute reusable packaging

2 reasons to avoid:

  • Sells out fast
  • Not all products are cruelty free

This year’s eclectic advent calendar from ASOS is selling fast. Packed with 24 of the coolest skincare and make up brands, this is a beauty selection box with lots of surprises. From classic brands like Clinque and Elemis to cult skincare from Dr Jart and The Ordinary, this is one of the best buys out there this year. It’s hard to pick one hero product from this selection with competition from the likes of Aveda and Sunday Riley but the Psychic Sisters Rose Quartz Face Roller takes the prize for best in show. The dual-endedroller does actual miracles for tired, puffy skin. Make using it daily one of your 2021 resolutions – it’s a brilliant way to practise self-care and facial massage to reduce fine lines, increase circulation, and prevent inflammation & redness. When summer rolls around stick it in the fridge for an extra refreshing facial massage.

Also, if budget is an issue this Christmas, ASOS have another option, a 12 days advent calendar for £35. Kudos to ASOS for creating ultra cool reusable packaging which would look great in in any bathroom or on a dresser. One downside, not all the brands and products included are cruelty free or vegan.

What’s the design of the ASOS advent calendar like?

Top marks for design – this is the most stylish and Instrgammable option out there this year. The clashing prints pattern makes this a super chic option that any millennial would love. This one gets bonus points as box can be reused for storage and would make for a very good shelfie.

What’s the availability like?

Both the 24 day bumperASOS advent calendar and it’s cute and more affordable little sister (with 12 products and costing £35) are only available onASOS.com. Because there is no stock available elsewhere and the desirable contents (only retailers like Net-a-porter and ASOS offer a calendar with a huge selection of skincare and make up brands), so this will definitely sell out fast.

Also, no waiting list required so you can get yours online now with no need to wait. ASOS also use Klarna, which means you can pay for this in instalments but vaeta emptor, if you don’t make the payments in time it can end up costing you more than the RRP.

Is it a sustainable or ethical choice?

Kudos to ASOS using sustainability packaging (although the calendar does contain single use plastic inside). That said, most of the packaging of the contents can be recycled after use and while there are lots of products from ethical brands (like the cult brand Sunday Riley) the entire selection isn’t vegan or cruelty free.
