The Masked Singer has had viewers hooked ever since its very first season last year and Season 2 is exciting as ever. The popular ITV singing show has already had multiple seasons in America, but the unique format show only made its way over the pond in 2020. And we’re so glad it did as viewers can’t help speculating about which celebrities are lurking behind those elaborate masks and costumes.
Each week the anonymous singers, known only by their costume monikers such as ‘Robin’ or ‘Dragon’, perform songs. The panel of judges, which includes Davina McCall and comedian Mo Gilligan, attempt to guess their identity, both from their voices and from certain show clues.
After performing, the singer will receive votes, but ultimately the least popular will be eliminated, taking off their mask to reveal their true identity before performing one last time.
With the final only weeks away, The Masked Singer is currently down to just five contestants.

But whilst fans may have to be patient for a little longer as they wait for the celebrities’ identities to be revealed, The Masked Singer has reportedly got another huge surprise in store.
Who is returning to The Masked Singer?
The Masked Singer is reportedly set to have former contestant and Girls Aloud singer, Nicola Roberts return for the final! Last year Nicola wowed audiences with her performance as Queen Bee, wearing a suitably majestic black and gold bee costume, complete with crown.
Week after week the judges and viewers were bowled over by her impressive vocals - so much so that she was eventually crowned the winner of The Masked Singer Season 1.
Now according to The Daily Star, an insider has supposedly disclosed: “Producers thought it would be really fun to have Nicola back on the show. She was thrilled to be asked and jumped at the chance to return.”
"Nicola knows what it’s like to perform inside one of the costumes and try to keep the panel guessing,” the insider added.
"And she knows better than anyone what the contestants are thinking. Producers were hoping that would mean she could approach the game from a different angle and come up with some good guesses."
If these claims turn out to be true, we can’t wait to see Nicola return to The Masked Singer for the grand final.
