With Christmas just over two months away it’s time to start thinking about those all-important advent calendars.
We’ve seen a number of gin advent calendars flood the market over the last few years - as a brilliant adult alternative to traditional chocolate ones. But for those who aren’t big fans of gin, there’s a new boozy calendar for 2020 to get excited about.
A new tequila and mezcal calendar has launched, giving a taste into the world of agave with 12 specially-curated wax-sealed drams. People truly are spoilt for choice, too, with blanco to anejo tequilas to some seriously smoky mezcals.
The calendar features Herradura Reposado, El Jimador Reposado, El Jimador Añejo, Tapatio Reposado Tequila, Herradura Plata, QuiQuiRiQui Matatlan Mezcal, Mezcal Amores Cupreata, Corte Vetusto Tobalá, Mezcal Verde, Pancho Datos Reposado Tequila, Ilegal Joven and Curado Tequila Blanco: Infusión de Agave Espadín - each 30ml in size. Perfect for a little evening tipple during the course of December. Or simply save them up and host a tasting session.
The website says, 'If you're thinking about adding a delicious new tradition to your 12 Days of Christmas (those are the 12 days after Advent, of course), or you want a shorter count down to Christmas with some wonderful agave-based treats, this is for you.'
Available to pre-order for £45 at Master of Malt, this is no doubt a brilliant early-Christmas present for the tequila-lover in your life - or simply a lovely treat for yourself.
The brand also offers a selection of other alcoholic calendars, including a Scotch whiskyone for £149.95 with a bottle for every day of advent, as well as rum and vodka varieties.

In other festive booze news, M&S has brought back a fan favourite from last year - gin snow globes (or in other words, bottles of gin liqueur with gold leaf inside which resembles snow).
Only 79 days to go, so better get planning your festive drinks trolley!
