The Royal Family member most likely to hit the dance floor after showcasing skills with Strictly star

The Royal Family's dance skills might not often be showcased, but now Mike Tindall has joined a Strictly star for a special performance.
- Mike Tindall, husband of the Queen’s grandchild Zara made an appearance on ITV’s Loose Men where he discussed their love of dancing.
- The retired rugby star even took to the dance floor himself as Strictly pro Johannes Radebe taught him a few moves.
- This royal news comes as we revealed Princess Anne’s sweet nod to absent Prince William and Kate Middleton as she hosted a major royal event.
Earlier this week Sophie Wessex and Prince Edward showcased little-known skills in a traditional tea dance during a royal engagement. Now it seems like their nephew-in-law Mike Tindall might be one of the members of the extended Royal Family most likely to hit the dance floor as he revealed he and his wife Zara have considered “dance lessons”. And they’ve technically already begun as the retired rugby star had a brief lesson from Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Johannes Radebe.
On May 12th, ITV’s hit daytime show, Loose Women, became Loose Men for the day to mark Mental Health Awareness Week. Highlighting the importance of men speaking out about their mental health, the panel included Mike and Johannes, alongside presenter Vernon Kay and radio host Roman Kemp.
Topics discussed ranged from male body image to money struggles and talk even turned to the power of dance. According to People, Mike then revealed that he and Zara are not ones to turn down the chance for a good boogie.
"We both do like to have a dance, definitely not ballroom but dancing makes you feel good, I love it, I love music,” Mike explained, also sharing, "We've always talked about trying to do dance lessons as a social thing but we've never got round to it.”
During the appearance, Mike is also said to have expressed his belief that dancing is not just a feel-good activity for him and Zara, but one that could help children.
“Nothing should be off the table, expose your kids to as much as they can get their hands on,” he said. “I look at dancing now and posture – kids really struggle with at the moment – dancing’s amazing for posture so it’s an amazing way of getting them to stand properly, to sit properly, have control of shoulders.

As reported by Birmingham Live, Johannes, who was one of the Strictly Come Dancing 2021 finalists with his dance partner John Whaite, even offered to teach Mike and Zara himself.
“You’re going to come and teach us,” Mike supposedly said to Johannes, to which the dancer responded, “I definitely will… I encourage you to go for gold, take up dancing.”
As Loose Men drew to a close, Mike then joined Johannes for a quick waltz in the studio, suggesting that he’s likely one of the royals members who’s first to head for the dancefloor at big occasions.
Cheered on by their fellow panelists, Vernon Kay made an exciting suggestion as he quipped, “There we go! I know someone on the inside of Strictly, maybe we can get him on.”
There’ll certainly be plenty of Strictly and royal fans alike who would be excited to see Mike Tindall become a Strictly contestant. Sadly, this might be unlikely as People claimed he’s previously told Good Morning Britain in 2019 that he doesn’t believe “the nation needs to see [him] dance”.
However, his latest appearance has seen him already showcase his dance skills to the nation with his mini lesson. So it seems there could potentially be a tiny glimmer of hope for anyone eager to see Mike appear on the hit BBC show.
But whether or not Mike Tindall does ever grace the Strictly ballroom, Johannes might well inspire him to take up lessons after all!
