Sophie, Countess of Wessex, attended the second day of Royal Ascot wearing a powder blue outfit, much to the delight of fans who praised her 'elegant' outfit.

Sophie, Countess of Wessex, has earned herself a legion of fans for her fashion choices, with each elegant outfit she dons for royal engagements prompting a flurry of praise online.

Kate Middleton's dresses may sell out time and time again, but Sophie is proving to be a strong contender for most fashionable royal.

For the second day of Royal Ascot 2022, Sophie opted for a cornflower blue dress with delicate lace detailing and matching accessories.

Perhaps the most eye-catching of Sophie's accessories was her stunning jewelry from some of the best jewelry brands. Sophie continued the blue theme with floral earrings set with blue and yellow gems, and the pièce de résistance - a brilliant aquamarine, diamond and enamel brooch.

This isn't the first time Sophie has been spotted wearing this brooch - it's a statement piece that often gets wheeled out for very special occasions.

The Queen jewelry choices and Sophie's are very much aligned. Her Majesty is often spotted wearing a dazzling brooch - so much so that we have a whole feature dedicated to the Queen Elizabeth's brooches.

The pair are said to have a close bond and a lot in common, so it makes sense that they share similar taste. According to royal commentator Duncan Larcombe, Sophie emerged as the Queen's “unlikely rock” during testing times.

It's been a busy week for the royals, with many making an appearance at Royal Ascot to enjoy the races. Prince William and Duchess Catherine missed the first Ascot race meetings due to other commitments.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex appeared together in the procession and the parade ring on both Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
