It has been reported that Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York is a big fan of The Crown and even has some ideas in mind of who she would like to play her in the royal drama.

Duchess Sarah, who is the ex wife of Prince Andrew, is said to be keen for fellow red head and Poldark actress Eleanor Tomlinson to take on the role of her in the Netflix series, based on the lives of the royals.

The mother of two is also believed to want Oscar winner Julianne Moore to play an older version of herself.

A source told The Sun, “Sarah has really enjoyed the series — even if it hasn’t gone down well with all members of the royal family.

The Crown

“She’s told several people close to her she really loves the idea of Eleanor after watching Poldark. In later life, she’s keen on Julianne Moore.

“These days something as big as The Crown actually matters — for a whole new generation that’s how they will know who the Duchess actually is.”

The third series of The Crown is set to be released on Sunday morning.

Duchess Sarah didn’t marry into the family until 1986, so if she was to appear on the programme, it wouldn’t occur until a later series.

This follows news that the Queen’s grandson Prince William informed Olivia that he isn’t a lover of The Crown.

Speaking about the moment she met the future King during an appearance on the Graham Norton Show, Olivia explained, “I was so excited and asked, ‘Have you watched it?’ His answer was a firm, ‘No’.

“But he was very charming and very lovely.”
