The Queen has shared a rare personal insight into the Royal Family as she revealed a series of candid photos of her and husband Prince Philip with their eldest children Prince Charles and Princess Anne.
In honour of Princess Anne’s upcoming 70th birthday (opens in new tab) next week, the Royal Family Instagram account shared a series of lovely photo of Princess Anne as a child, including a couple of snaps with her parents and older brother.
‘Next Saturday, The Princess Royal will turn 70!🎈,’ they wrote alongside the post.
‘Princess Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise, the only daughter of The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, was born on 15th August, 1950’.
Providing an overview of the Princess Royal’s responsibilities, after she was recently voted most charitable royal (opens in new tab), the caption continued, ‘The Princess Royal undertakes a busy schedule of engagements and is involved with over 300 patronages linked to her wide range of interests, including sport, agriculture and animals, science, medicine and healthcare, international development, education, sailing and the military.

Royals fans loved the glimpse that the Royal Family shared of their private lives, with comments including, ‘Such charming photos😍’, ‘Adorable pictures😍’, ‘Beautiful photos! She’s all smiles!!😍😍’, ‘Beautiful family pictures!’and‘Love these old photographs💖’.
Another added, ‘Aww I love this great idea and all these adorable pictures🥺😍😍😍the Princess Royal is an amazing woman❤️❤️❤️❤️,’ while one commented on the Queen and Prince Philip’s appearance, writing, ‘The Queen and HRH The Duke Of Edinburgh really were such a good looking and glamorous pair in their younger years !!🇬🇧😀’.
