Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, is set to release his latest book in September.

It was Charles’ 56th birthday on Wednesday and he used the special day to announce some exciting news.

Charles delighted fans with news that his 2017 book To Catch A King is available for free for subscribers of The Times, before unveiling news of a brand new book.

He tweeted, “I’m proud to see that my 2017 book To Catch A King is this month’s free book for subscribers of @thetimes of London. (My next book is to be published on 17 September, by the way.)"

So what can we expect from Charles’ latest book?

Sharing more details, he added, “My next - due out in September - is on The White Ship: the great royal, medieval, tragedy that took place 900 years ago, in November 1120."

Since Princess Diana’s tragic death in 1997, her brother Charles has remained her biggest fan and often publicly discusses her legacy.

And one of the things that haunts him most is feeling like he should have “protected her”. On her death, he said, “I was furious, I wasn’t just angry.

“[I thought] what could I have done. But you always think, God, I wish I could’ve protected her. It was just…it was devastating. I always felt…intensely protective towards her.”

In a bid to ensure her legacy lives on, it was recently revealed Earl Charles Spencer was selling copies of the eulogy he read at her funeral for £30 in his estate gift shop.

A description for the item reads, “This is a hand signed beautiful book containing the Eulogy for Princess Diana, by her Brother, Earl Spencer.

“It comes in a wonderful blue keepsake box, with the Althorp Logo in silver on the front. The book itself, is of the highest quality.

"It is hardbacked and there are 25 pages containing the wonderful Speech that Earl Spencer Made at Princess Diana's Funeral, in Westminster Abbey on 6th September 1997.”
