Prince William has confessed that he left his three children shocked after his passionate reaction to the football recently.

The Duke of Cambridge yesterday hosted an outdoor screening of the FA Cup Final, on the lawn of Sandringham House. The event was help in order to raise awareness of the royal's Heads Up mental health campaign.

William watched on from deck chairs will fellow supporters, as the game between Arsenal and Chelsea was broadcast live from Wembley.

He watched the game alongside various celebrities, and former footballers supporting the Heads Up cause.

But in an interview prior to the screening, the future King was questioned about his reaction to his beloved club, Aston Villa, avoiding relegation, after beating West Ham last weekend.

Speaking about his reaction, the Duke admitted that his excitement over the win was so enthusiastic that he terrified his three children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

He confessed, "The nerves were the worst I’ve ever known them. I mean, my children looked at me in horror as I jumped off the sofa screaming my head off."

William jokingly continued, "It’s very good news that I can hide away until these moments and not be visibly seen, because it was one of the most stressful moments of my life, as I imagine every Villa fan felt that day. But I’m very proud of everything the club has done this year."

The Duke and many other members of the royal family have largely returned to royal duties following the coronavirus lockdown, with most events being conducted outside.

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, recently paid a visit to Boots (opens in new tab), wearing a stylish Liberty print face mask.

And Prince Charles also recently visited Scotland (opens in new tab), where he thanked hospital staff for their work during the pandemic.

The Queen and Prince Philip are reportedly soon to be moving to their Balmoral home after an extended stay at Windsor Castle too, where they spent lockdown.
