In Finding Freedom, the new biography about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's romance and exit from the royal family, details of the early days of the couple's romance are recalled.

The tell-all book, written by royal journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, reports that former Suits actress Meghan began following an Instagram account called @SpikeyMau5 after her first date with Prince Harry back in 2016.

The name of the account, which once belonged to Prince Harry, is said to have been inspired by the royal's love of house music and named as a tribute to his favourite DJ, DeadMau5.

Meanwhile, the name Spikey is one of the titles Harry used to go by online, with one of his secret Facebook profiles once being named Spike Wells.

Meghan, who was an avid blogger on her website The Tig prior to marrying into royal life, shared an online hint that her love life was taking off around the time of her first meeting with Prince Harry in the summer of 2016.

Finding Freedom reveals how she posted an image of some Love Heart sweets, with one in particular in shot, reading 'kiss me'.

'Lovehearts in #London,' Meghan wrote next to the photo.

In a recount of the beginning of the iconic duo's whirlwind romance, the book tells of how both parties were sure the relationship was heading somewhere after the first meeting.

The lovers, who are now parents to one-year-old son Archie, met at Soho House's Dean Street Townhouse where Harry is said to have enjoyed beer while Meghan opted for Martinis.Having loved each other's company so much, the couple reportedly met again the following night.

In May 2018 the couple tied the know in a lavish white wedding and left royal fans in shock at the beginning of 2020 when they announced they were set to step down from their roles as senior members of the royal family in order to become "financially independent" and later moved across the pond to Los Angeles.
