Prince George's most adorable moments EVER as he turns nine years old
As the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's eldest son, Prince George, turns 9, we take a look at some of his cutest moments
It's hard to believe that Prince George is turning nine years old. It seems like it was only yesterday that Prince William and Kate Middleton showed off their firstborn to the world outside the Lindo Wing in 2013.
The couple has, of course since gone on to have two more children, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. But as the future King of England and the oldest of the Queen's great-grandchildren celebrates his birthday today, we take a look back at some of his most adorable moments over the past nine years...
Prince George's cutest moments as he turns nine years old
1. Hello world!
Proud new parents Kate Middleton and Prince William showed off their newborn son, George Alexander Louis, on the steps outside the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's hospital in London after his birth in 2013. Kate wore a blue polka dot dress, a nod to the similar style Princess Diana wore when she and Prince Charles stood on the same steps with baby William.
2. A cute christening
Prince George was christened by Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury, in the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace on October 23, 2013, when he was three months old. Only 22 people attended the intimate ceremony and this included the seven godparents and their spouses, along with senior royals and four members of the Middleton family. George's named godparents are: Oliver Baker, Emilia Jardine-Paterson, Earl Grosvenor, Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, Julia Samuel, William van Cutsem and Zara Tindall.
3. Nature lover
Prince George looked truly adorable as he pointed out a butterfly to dad Prince William at the 'Sensational Butterflies' exhibit at London’s Natural History Museum. Kate released this sweet snap ahead of Prince George's first birthday in 2014.
4. Royal tour fun
At just eight months old, Prince George joined Kate and Wills on his first royal tour, which took place in New Zealand and Australia. Unsurprisingly, locals loved their visit from the young family and it's safe to say Prince George made a fabulous first impression!
5. Waving to the crowds
Prince George looked super cute as he waved to waiting crowds in the arms of Prince William as he went to meet his newborn baby sister, Princess Charlotte, at the Lindo Wing at St. Mary's hospital in May 2015. Just look at those matching outfits!

6. Toddler tantrums
Even royal kids have tantrums, you know! Parents of young children could relate when Prince George was pictured throwing a wobbly as mum Kate tried to pick him up. Poor Kate was undoubtedly stressed, but Prince George still looked uber cute.
7. Sibling love
Prince George melted the hearts of the nation when he stood on tip-toe to check on his baby sister, Princess Charlotte, back in 2015. What a lovely big brother! And the red shorts were simply adorable.
8. Meeting the Obamas in his PJs
Only Prince George could get away with meeting the Obamas in his pajamas, which is exactly what he did in 2016. The toddler, who was dressed in a white dressing gown, navy slippers, and blue gingham pajamas, hopped on the rocking horse bought by the Obamas as a gift when he was born.
9. Funny faces
One of the *many* reasons we love Prince George is thanks to his overly expressive face. Whatever is on his mind, we all know about it. Here he is looking less than impressed at Trooping the Colour in 2017. Oops!
10. Helicopter joy
Arguably one of the most-loved pics of Prince George, the young royal was so overwhelmed when he got to explore some helicopters in Germany, that he could hardly contain himself! Before concluding their five-day trip to Poland and Germany, the royal family had stopped to look at some choppers before taking off from the Hamburg airport, much to three-year-old George's delight.
11. Auntie Pippa's wedding
Little George looked so dapper as he attended his auntie Pippa's wedding to James Matthews in May 2017 as page boy. Despite a few words of telling off from mum Kate before the nuptials began, he did a wonderful job - and he certainly looked the part!
12. First day of school
Prince George's nerves were clear to see as dad Prince William dropped him off at St. Thomas's Battersea, an £18,000-a-year preparatory school in London, for his first day of school. Sadly, mum Kate wasn't able to make it as she was suffering severe morning sickness during her pregnancy with Prince Louis. However, Prince William later insisted that it "went well."
13. Football fan
Prince George looked super grown up as he was the only Cambridge child to go and watch an England match at Wembley during the 2020 Euros, which took place in 2021. Sitting between The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, George looked as though he had a great time and was even spotted cheering when England scored.
14. Platinum Jubilee
After two years of the COVID-19 pandemic meaning most royal celebrations were canceled, Prince George attended the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebration in London with his siblings in June 2022. The trio smiled and waved to the crowd, thrilling royal fans who had turned out to celebrate the Queen's 70-year reign.
15. Looking up to "Gan-Gan"
Prince George clearly has a strong bond with his great-grandmother, who he affectionately calls Gan-Gan. Speaking about the royal nickname, which all the grandchildren now use for the monarch, Kate revealed, "George is only two-and-a-half and he calls her Gan-Gan." And the love they have for each other is clear to see in this sweet snap.
Happy birthday, Prince George!
