Prince Charles has dropped a major clue about Meghan Markle’s due date after announcing an upcoming royal engagement.
While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have kept royal fans in the dark over the impending arrival of their first child, Charles may have loosely given the secret away after making travel arrangements for a royal tour in Germany.
Clarence House recently announced that the future King and the Duchess of Cornwall will make the trip from the 7thto the 10thMay to ‘celebrate the UK-Germany relationship and its enduring importance to both countries’.
It has been reported that Charles and Camilla are very unlikely to leave the UK before Meghan gives birth.
Both Charles and Camilla have a strong relationship with Meghan and Harry so it is understood that they will welcome their new grandchild before they set off on their travels.
Prince Charles previously revealed he was thrilled over the news that his son was set to become a father, revealing he ‘toasted the news’ of the baby after Meghan and Harry announced her pregnancy.
The royal couple have previously said that their baby is due around the end of April, or beginning of May, but recently issued a statement to say they have made the decision to keep the arrangements for the birth private.
It read, ‘The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby.
‘Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private.
‘The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.’
It was previously reported that Meghan has decided against giving birth at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London, and will instead be using her own doctors and having the baby out of the public eye.
