Meghan Markle was left surprised by advice given by Princess Anne, according to a royal source.

Meghan Markle reportedly turned to Princess Anne for advice as one of the hardest-working of the Queen's children and the Royal Family as a whole. It's thought that Princess Anne has carried out over 20,000 engagements since her 18th birthday and a total of 170 working days and 179 engagements in 2021.

Royal expert Neil Sean told The Express, "This senior royal takes no nonsense, much like her father the late Duke of Edinburgh."

Sean then went on to speak of an incident when Meghan was left "dumfounded" after asking for advice from Princess Anne when it came to carrying out royal duties.

"Apparently, when Meghan Markle joined the Royal Family, she sought out Princess Anne. According to a very good source, Princess Anne gave very sage advice to the new royal. As we know, Princess Anne is the hardest-working royal."

Sean continued, "She does endless amounts of engagements.

"She turns up does the job and does not seek the limelight, and represents the Queen. I thought the recent visit together with the Queen to the Thames Hospice was wonderful.

"But apparently Meghan left her meeting with Princess Anne dumbfounded.

"Princess Anne reiterated this mantra, she pointed out that it wasn't a working monarchy; it was a job, you turn up on time, you do your research, and do the duty.

"It's all about the project at hand. She also pointed out that whatever charities you are involved in you, you needed to get involved and get immersed."

Sean concluded, "According to a very good source Meghan Markle failed to warm to Princess Anne," though neither Meghan nor Princess Anne herself has ever revealed this themselves.

In fact, in an extensive interview with Vanity Fair on uncovering the truth behind a lifetime of royal service, Princess Anne doesn't reveal any thoughts on Meghan and Harry's departure from the Royal Family at all.
