The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were guests of honour at the European premiere of The Lion King, in London’s Leicester Square, and they received the cutest gift for their new bundle of joy...
As the royal couple took to the red carpet, they met excited fans and amongst these were Evie Chambers and Valentina Walker, both 12, whose parents are associated with Disney.
The girls presented Duchess Meghan with a bouquet, a book and a cuddly Simba toy for baby Archie. Speaking about this, Evie said the Duchess “seemed really delighted” with the gift.
Meghan had also asked Evie and Valentina who their favourite characters were, to which they replied Simba and Nala. That makes Archie’s gift even sweeter!
The Duchess was spotted speaking to many fans, some of which gave her gifts like Evie and Valentina. We’re sure little Archie was spoiled during the evening, despite not being there.
The live-action remake is star-studded, with The Duke and Duchess meeting Beyonce, who voices Nala in the film and her husband, rapper Jay-Z on the yellow carpet, specifically designed to represent the colours of the film.
The two couples took the time to speak to each other, with Beyoncé congratulating the royals on the birth of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
Meghan was also seen chatting to rock legend Elton John, who has recently frequented the film scene after the release of his biopic Rocketman, starring Taron Egerton.
The 72-year-old seemed delighted to see the Duchess, as he was photographed grinning at the Duchess in a moment that has delighted fans everywhere.
This film premiere marks Meghan’s first as a royal, but she’s no stranger to the red carpet after her success on US crime drama Suits, where she played Rachel Zane.
It looked like the Duke and Duchess had huge fun at the film premiere, and we’re sure it won’t be their last one together!
