King Charles' special hope for Princess Charlotte when he is 'very old'
King Charles shared his hopes for grown-up Princess Charlotte when she was born

King Charles has a special hope for his granddaughter, Princess Charlotte, for when he is 'very old' that he shared when she was a newborn baby.
- King Charles was thrilled when his eldest granddaughter, Princess Charlotte, was born in May 2015.
- Following little Charlotte's birth, the King shared his adorable hopes for little Charlotte when she grows up.
- In other royal news, the reason the Queen's death has forced King Charles back to the drawing board has been revealed.
Princess Charlotte was born to Prince William and Kate Middleton at the Lindo Wing at St Mary's Hospital in London on May 2nd 2015 as the royal couple's second born child, after future King Prince George.
Princess Charlotte's birth also marked the arrival of King Charles' first ever granddaughter and he was thrilled to become a grandpa to a little girl at the time.
The newly appointed King, who is now grandfather to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten Windsor, shared some very sweet sentiments about little Charlotte when she arrived in the world.
After admitting that he was hoping Prince William and Catherine's second-born would be a little girl, Charles was on a royal outing a few days later when he shared some lovely words about Charlotte.
"She is beautiful," he exclaimed during a visit to model town development, Poundbury, in Dorset.
Sharing his hopes for him and Charlotte to maintain a close bond as they both grow older, he added, "I was hoping for a granddaughter - someone to look after me when I am very old."
King Charles, who has been hailed a 'brilliant' grandpa by Prince William in the past, left the world cooing over his grandparenting skills during the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations back in June 2022.
With little Prince Louis showcasing a whole host of hilarious moments over the big royal weekend, the four-year-old and King Charles shared a wonderful moment that was caught on camera for us all to see.
During the Jubilee pageant, Prince Louis was filmed and photographed getting up to all sorts of mischief as he sat in the audience with key members of the royal family.
Pulling cheeky faces and clambering on mom Kate Middleton, Prince Louis later turned his attention to his grandpa, running down the row to perch on Charles' lap.
Prince Louis beamed as grandpa Charles bounced him on his knee along to the music playing, prompting royal fans to obsess over the moment of bonding on social media.
