Most of us have been glued to The Crown over the last few days - speed watching series four and asking ourselves how true is The Crown?

However, some eager fans are convinced that real-life royal the Duchess of Cambridge made a sneaky cameo in the drama.

The fourth series of The Crown dramatizes the era when Prince Charles marries Princess Diana - showing the ins and outs of their turbulent relationship.

During episode six the young royal couple visit Australia and greet fans, and that's when avid watchers think that the Duchess makes an appearance.

One fan on Twitter posted the screen grab and said: "Meta moment in S4 Ep6 of #TheCrown....while depicting Charles and Diana's trip to Oz, one of the women reaching out to touch Diana is the spit of Kate Middleton...."

We have to admit the woman really does look the spitting image of Kate - with similar hair and that smile.

It wasn't just one fan that spotted it - quite a few questioned whether Kate had sneaked on set and landed herself a cameo as a screaming fan on the show.

Another said: 'Surely SURELY I'm not the only one who has definitely (read: probably not, but definitely) spotted Kate Middleton in the background in Season 4 of ! #TheCrownSeason4'

Whoever the woman really is, she could no doubt give any of the Duchesses look-a-likes a run for their money.

Meanwhile why not get in on the royal action yourself by snapping up these gorgeous gold mistletoe earrings as seen on the real Duchess of Cambridge earlier this week.
