Duchess Camilla stunned alongside Prince Charles in Cornwall as she showcased her very chic way to keep cool amid the UK heatwave.
- The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince of Wales kicked off Devon and Cornwall week in style as they visited the South West in the sunshine on July 18.
- Duchess Camilla wowed with a very useful accessory as she undertook visits to Mousehole, Newlyn and Boconnoc House.
- This royal news comes as we revealed the sweet bedtime ritual Prince Charles treats his grandchildren to.
As senior members of the extended Royal Family, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall are no strangers to undertaking a huge number of both UK and overseas tours. And given that the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall’s annual review revealed that they’d visited 42 UK counties and 84 towns between April 2021 and March 2022, it’s perhaps no surprise that they’re continuing to travel the length and breadth of the country.
Following on from a successful Wales Week which saw Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla greeted by rapturous crowds, the couple have arrived for Devon and Cornwall Week. And Duchess Camilla’s stylish way to beat the UK’s heatwave has definitely caught our attention!

Sharing all the details of their first day, Clarence House posted a series of splendid snaps of the future King and Queen Consort exploring the South West of England. Throughout the busy day of engagements, Duchess Camilla wowed in lightweight, pastel-toned dresses, all whilst keeping a little cooler with a beautiful parasol.
As parts of the UK face a Met Office Red or Amber Warning for extreme heat on July 19th, the day before was not much cooler and the Duchess’ parasol was put to very good use. Featuring a natural-looking wooden handle and cream fabric, this handy accessory helped to shield Duchess Camilla’s head from the scorching sunshine.
The cream color of the parasol also perfectly complemented her sky-blue shirt dress and nude heels, adding an appropriately nautical color palette to their visit to two harbors. And this wasn’t the only way Duchess Camilla stunned despite the rising temperatures!
She also donned a pair of black sunglasses to protect her eyes from the intense sunlight, adding another chic touch to her classically elegant outfit. Both of these additions highlighted Duchess Camilla’s flair for looking fabulous and beating the worst of the heat whilst at work.

And fans were quick to express their delight at seeing the resilient royals braving the fierce heat in Cornwall, with one writing, “Never complain get on with the job..even in this heat. They are just amazing 👏 😍”.
“The Duchess looks lovely 😍❤️”, someone else responded admiringly.
Whilst a third clearly appreciated Duchess Camilla’s attempts to keep cool and chic in the heat as they commented, “Love the sunglasses 😎”.
As Devon and Cornwall Week began, Prince Charles, who is also Duke of Cornwall, and Duchess Camilla’s visit began in the quiet harbor of Mousehole. Here they were welcomed by both locals and tourists who had bravely ventured out into the heat to meet the senior royals. They later went on to visit Newlyn where they discovered more about the sustainable fishing practices of local fishermen.
And the first day was brought to a fabulous conclusion with another magnificent garden party - this time at Boconnoc House where 600 guests from across the county of Cornwall gathered to mark 70 years of Prince Charles’ role as head of the Duchy of Cornwall.
